Marine biodiversity has not been a major priority of governments throughout the world, despite the massive values of marine life. More money should be invested into science and technology to discover ways to preserve this great ecosystem and the rest of the world. Laws should be passed to limit carbon emissions, waste dumping, overfishing, and other harmful human impacts so that the environment can be protected. These laws must also be adequately enforced. More marine protected areas should be established in order to minimize human involvement in the natural world so species can be preserved. If 50% of the environment is preserved, then up to 86% of the animal species will be sustained. The oceans need to become a top priority so we can ensure its survival, and ours as well.
